For this purpose, the Nike Design Team even visited the NASA Center in Orlando and took the ideas to improve the comfort, strength, weight and grip of the new shoes. "NASA has inspired us to do it - they create things that withstand extreme conditions with minimal resources. The same thing we did with PG 3 - they are very lightweight and has a full consolidation” - said designer Tony Hardman.
Paul George demanded help to release his speed on the court. The weight of the shoes was reduced by the use of a lighter foam on the sole and the part of the collar was redesigned. “Reduced weight matches his style of play. He shoots a lot of three-pointers and jumps from the front part of the foot, as well as cutting and diving on the both sides of the court. The soft padded insole and Zoom cushion on the front of the shoes will help George to be even quicker" - designer told.
Nike PG3 are distinguished not only by their technical characteristics, but also by the details of the basketball player's life. They are decorated with a favorite player's quote - "Don't tell me that the sky is the limit when there is a footprints on the moon." This quote is very important to the basketball player - it is a reminder and a motivation to not stop working and reaching new heights. “I always thought I had to be on a higher level. I dreamed of playing in the NBA, but that's not enough for me. I always had bigger plans. I want to be a champion. I always believed there was higher space for me” - said the basketball player.
