In the summer of 2018, the FIFA World Cup hooked up everyone - even adidas. During that summer, the company introduced the first adidas Originals Sobakov sneakers, inspired by football. As the FIFA World Cup took place in Russia, the name of the shoe, Sobakov, was born from the two words of that country - Sobaka (dog) and Volk (wolf). Both wolves and dogs tend to aggressively defend their territory. With this symbolic name, adidas pays tribute to the most loyal football fans and ultras who stands behind the backs of their beloved teams and defend their honor.
The source of inspiration for the second model of the adidas Sobakov series became iconic adidas Predator Accelerator football boots worn by football legends Zinedine Zidane and David Beckham at the 1998 FIFA World Cup.
